The mesmerizing Hampta Pass Trek derives its name from the quaint Hampta Village. Nestled at an altitude of 14,107 feet in the Himalayan Pin Panjal range, this passage connects Lahaul and Kullu, offering a delightful blend of two different cultures. The trail, once a trade route, is now frequented by shepherds seeking grasslands in the deserted Lahaul and Spiti valleys during the summers.

Embarking on this journey, trekkers are treated to the breathtaking scenery of snow-capped Himalayan peaks, lush valleys. At an altitude of 4,270 meters, Hampta Pass rewards adventurers with awe-inspiring mountain vistas.

Day-Wise Itinerary

 

Day 1:Drive from Manali to Jobra (1 hour / 16 km) and trek to Chika

Altitude:3078m | Distance: 3 Km | Hours: 2 hours

 

  • Begin your thrilling adventure by driving from the captivating town of Manali to the starting point at Jobra.
  • Embark on a trek through a lush green forest, immersing yourself in the breathtaking beauty of nature.
  • Set up camp at Chika and embrace the tranquil surroundings as you unwind from the day's journey.

 

Day 2: Trek from Chika to Balu ka Ghera

Altitude: 3657m | Distance: 6 Km | Hours:5 hours

 

  • Continue your trek from Chika to the enchanting Balu ka Ghera, where nature reveals its awe-inspiring landscapes.
  • Traverse through picturesque vistas adorned with majestic mountains and glistening streams.
  • Find solace and peace at Balu ka Ghera, where you can connect with the natural world and appreciate its magnificence.

 

Day 3: Balu ka Ghera to Hampta Pass and  back to Balu Ka Ghera

Altitude: 4270m | Distance: 7 Km | Hours: 8 hours

 

  • Follow the marked trail from Balu Ka Ghera. The initial part involves a steady ascent. Rocky Terrain: Prepare for rocky and uneven terrain.
  • Use trekking poles for stability.
  • The final stretch to Hampta Pass involves steep and challenging climbs. Take your time and proceed carefully.
  • Rest Stops: Take regular breaks to rest, hydrate, and enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and valleys.
  • Again trek back to Balu ka ghera.
  • Overnight stay in camp.

 

Day 4: Trek from Balu ka Ghera to Chika

Altitude: 4270m | Distance: 6 Kms | Hours: 4/5 hours | Drive: 3 hours

 

  • Again continue your trek from Balu ka Ghera to back to chika.
  • Take some time to rest after the day’s trek. Relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Chika
  • Capture the stunning landscapes and memories of your trek.
  • Dinner and stay at camps

 

Day 5: Trek from Chika to Jobra and drive back to Manali

Drive: 4-5 hours | Distance: 3 kms

 

  • Start your trek early in the morning to take advantage of daylight.
  • Trek from Chika to Jobra is well defined. It involves gradual ascents and some rocky paths
  • Embark on a trek through a lush green forest, immersing yourself in the breathtaking beauty of nature.
  • After reaching Jobra drive back to Manali. Bid farewell to the mountains, cherishing the memories of an unforgettable adventure.
